Farhan Akhtar has confirmed that Don 3 is on schedule, putting to rest any rumours of delays. The highly anticipated film will star Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani in leading roles. Additionally, Akhtar’s production company will release Superboys of Malegaon and Dabba Cartel on February 28.
Farhan Akhtar provides a major update on Don 3
Since its announcement, Don 3 has been the subject of much speculation regarding its timeline. However, in a recent interview with India Today Digital, Akhtar refuted these claims of postponement. He stated, “I am not dodging any questions. Don 3 is starting this year, and 120 Bahadur will be released at the end of the year.” Farhan Akhtar will take the helm as director for Don 3, with Ranveer Singh in the title role and Kiara Advani as the female lead.
The filmmaker was also asked about the status of Jee Le Zaraa, a project featuring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif. Akhtar explained, “Many dates have to be coordinated. That’s perhaps for another time.”
About Superboys of Malegaon
In the meantime, his production Superboys of Malegaon is set to premiere in theatres on February 28. Directed by Reema Kagti and penned by Varun Grover, the film is produced by industry heavyweights Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti under the banners of Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby. The cast includes Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, Shashank Arora, and Anuj Singh Duhan.
About Dabba Cartel
On the streaming front, Akhtar is also preparing for the launch of his Netflix series, Dabba Cartel, which will debut on the same day. This star-studded series features a talented ensemble cast, including Shabana Azmi, Gajraj Rao, Jyotika, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali Anand, Sai Tamhankar, Jisshu Sengupta, Lillete Dubey, and Bhupendra Singh Jadawat.
